Create Your Perfect Modern Bathroom with Our 5 Simple Steps
Your Dream Bathroom Within Your Reach
At Langley Interiors we are passionate about modern bathroom designs and creating interiors as individual as our clients. After working with a wide range of customers over the years, we have come up with this easy to follow guide to your creating your own dream bathroom.
To create a modern bathroom that truly fits your family’s needs, follow our simple 5 step guide:
1. Think About the Bigger Picture
When planning your bathroom redesign, start with the basics. Start by thinking logically. Consider what features would you like to include in your perfect bathroom. Would that be a bath shower combo, or would you prefer to have a large shower enclosure? Do you prefer to have a single sink or maybe two separate basins so you and your partner can get ready at the same time?
Start by looking at what you currently have, and think about what you like and what you could improve on. Consider how you currently use your bathroom and think of what could possibly be changed to improve it. Be critical and analyse every single element. Think about storage, issues with space management and colour scheme. You might also find it useful to visit bathroom showrooms to get help and advise: visit our Bolton showroom to speak to one of our experienced advisers so that they can advice you on your options.
2. Take Measurements of Your Space
Take the basic measurements of the room you’re looking at. Mark the position of windows, doors and WC. Bring the drawing with you when meeting with professionals. A quick sketch of the room can really help a trained designer get you started, helping them offer the best advice and move forward with the basic layout and equipment recommendation much quicker. Once you have a basic idea of what you want and have a designer and installer you like and trust, they can visit you to complete a full survey.
3. Find our What You Like
There are so many places to get inspiration these days, depending on what you medium suits you. There are a wide range of magazines on the market such as Ideal Homes, or House Beautiful which are great starting points. Pinterest or Houzz are perfect for online research – a bit like a virtual scrapbook! You can search through previous projects and inspiration to see what inspires you. The more recent addition of Instagram is proving popular for home interiors inspiration as well, being totally image led. You might want to use all of the above!
Once you have a better idea of what floats your boat, it’s time to get out there and see them in person!

Magazines and the Internet are a great starting point, but there is no substitute for seeing things in person. Get out and visit bathroom centres for ideas and see bathroom equipment in person. Especially with bathroom equipment where you will want to get the best quality and value for your money, it is well worth seeing it in person. Our recently renovated Bolton showroom has many bathrooms on display to provide you with a wide range of inspiration for your future projects. Many of the display items are plumbed in, so that you can see them in action.
