De-clutter for Summer
Give Your Home an Facelift!
With the summer fast approaching it’s great to give your home a deep clean and de-clutter, so that when the summer sun finally arrives you can get on with enjoying it. Follow our simple tips and target those areas that often get missed.
Give it a good re-think
Over time our homes tend to gather elements that become part of the background. When de-cluttering, give all your rooms a second glance. Be as critical as you can – ask yourself if you still really like each piece as much as you once did.
So as not to be overwhelmed by the task in hand, take each room one at a time, take everything off the shelves and then plan them from scratch incorporating the elements you really want. To avoid becoming cluttered again, make sure you use the space to feature pieces you really like and banish those that you don’t.

Bring Your Vision to life
Like with most things in life, it is usually easier if you have a plan first. Pull together images of styles and colours you like so you have something you are trying to replicate. It will make it easier to get rid of the things that do not fit your new concept project. If you are looking for a larger change of scenery in your rooms you can always add couple of fitted wardrobes. They can either be an almost invisible part of the room allowing you to store away everything you need, or a central piece that expresses your personality. Clean Your Curtains
Curtains and blinds are often neglected in our weekly and monthly cleaning routines. Not only can they allow dust mites to settle posing a health risk, they also play a vital role in bringing the design of the room together.
Think how to extend the concept of your room and bring it together in the curtains. Take your time with it. You can always get samples of your favourite materials and put them against some of the walls or furniture to see if they match. You can always visit our Bolton showroom to get advise from our weathered designers on colours and patterns.

Clean the Hard to Reach Places
We all have places in our house that are hard to get to, and because of that they can become neglected. Think about all of the wardrobe tops, corners behind the sofa and other weird and wonderful spots. Give them all a thorough clean. You will be surprised how much difference will you see!

Don’t Forget Upholstery
Just like every other space in your home, upholstery needs a regular deep cleaning. Especially your sofas, cushions and chairs – which get used every day. Check the labels before doing anything. We really like the tips from this article by Ideal Home when cleaning our sofas.
