A Home Office Fit For Two – Twin Desk Office
Our latest fitted home office furniture for Mr and Mrs Higson had one very important requirement – it needed desk space to allow two people to work comfortably side by side.
These clients work a lot from home and they needed a very practical working environment that would allow them to both use the space, often at the same time, whilst not getting under one another’s feet!
Our senior designer Peter Langley set about creating a ‘Jack and Jill’ style desk area with two completely separate work areas that allowed them to share a printer.

The desks across the corners of the room gave the largest work space possible for both users whilst also giving them a separate working area. With any working area, it is always important to consider the height of the users, as this will make a different to the desk height. The right desk height will ensure the user is comfortable and protect against any stress with back, arms or necks.

Separate individual shelving, drawers and cupboard help them to store all their paperwork and keep a neat and de-cluttered environment.
Lighting makes a huge difference to the feel of a room. With a home office it is very important to get the balance between a clear bright light to allow for easy working, and any atmospheric or effect lights that can make the space feel warmer. The use of spot lights and LED’s to highlight the shelves and storage gives the room interest and a feeling of warmth.

Black walnut real wood is a beautiful choice for fitted home office furniture, for a warm classic feel that won’t date. The high gloss finish gives it a modern twist.
