7 Things to do in January
Get Your Home Ready For The Year This January
January is you opportunity to get 2013 off to a great start. It’s a great opportunity to look at getting your home sorted with a new bedroom or bathroom. Bespoke fitted furniture gives you the best storage options. But before you do that, you will probably want a sort out.
Put fresh bed linen on beds and clear bedside clutter. Leave out a welcome kit of towels and soaps.
Send Thank- You Notes
Keep a record of what gifts were received this year. Once all the partying has died down, sit down with the kids and family and write some hand written cards.
Sort Out Your Party Tableware
Make sure you check for any stains and clean them properly before putting them away for next time. Polish cutlery well and store away in soft cloths to protect.
Bed Linen and Towels
Stop hoarding everything and go through everything keeping the good bed linen and matching towels. Recycle faded or threadbare items at a charity bank.
Be ruthless! Go through your gigantic mug collection and recycle old mugs by breaking them and using them for drainage for pot plants. Clean stains off from any you want with hot water and lemon.
Go through your bookcase and route out the ones you will never read again. Donate them to charity or sell or swap them online with eBay or another online store.
Transfer your old home movies on discs or hard drive and free up space. Check carefully where to throw them away, as magnetic tape cannot just be thrown in with plastics to be recycled.
After all this, you will have a much better idea of what storage you need and in which rooms.
