Wildflower meadow at the ‘Beehive’ Roundabout

 Beautiful Blooms

Langley Interiors sponsored roundabout with beautiful 'Wild' flowers.Back in January we decided that we would like to give something back to the local community that has supported us for some many years by sponsoring two roundabouts. In April this year the Bolton Council took the initaiative to create ‘wildflower meadows’ in eight locations throughout Bolton, including key roundabouts and junctions.

The meadows were designed to help to stop the decline in wildflowers, reverse the decline in bee populations and provide habitat and feeding areas for ladybirds, butterflies, birds and bats.  The new wildflower meadows are located at: Beaumont Road/Chorley New Road junction ; Star Island roundabout, Blackrod; Church Street, Westhoughton; Watergate Lane/A6 roundabout, Hulton; Unity Brook, Kearsley; High Street, Little Lever and Milnthorpe Park, Breightmet. and the Beehive roundabout, Horwich which is our sponsored roundabout.

Cllr Sufrana Bashir-Ismail, Bolton Council Executive member for cleaner, greener, safer, said:

“The meadows will not only provide beautiful and colourful displays of flowers over the summer, but will also provide a safe habitat and food source for all kinds of wildlife.”

Langley Interiors sponsored roundabout

The Beehive roundabout and the other seven locations are currently in bloom and look absolutely spectacular.  We have had lots of phonecalls and emails from local residents and commuters who were absolutely delighted with this addition to Bolton.

“I would just like to say how beautiful the ‘wild’ flowers are at the beehive roundabout, Horwich. The billboard would suggest that you are responsible for the display. If you have not seen them please do so, it’s worth a visit.”
Hannah O’Reilly, Local resident

“Thank you very much for giving me such pleasure and joy when I pass it every day, I have never seen a potentially miserable piece of road looking so lovely.”
Brenda Craston, Local resident

“Just wanted to say Thanks for the lovely display on the roundabout”
Frances Clemmitt

Gemma Bartholomew, Marketing manager for Langley Interiors added;

“We were so pleased to be able to support the local council by sponsoring the roundabouts back in January and were absolutely delighted by the display that they decided to place there.  It is a real pleasure to drive past there, and the compliments we have received have been fantastic.  The council really do need some credit for this project; such a fantastic idea and yet so simple. It really does give a fantastic impression of Bolton for anyone visiting.”
